GE Global Grid Planning: Connecting People to Power Around the World

There are more than 1 billion people worldwide without access to reliable, affordable and efficient electricity. GE’s Energy Consulting business is working to close that gap with grid operators, governments, utilities and other stakeholders in countries around the globe. Cambodia

Cambodia’s grid is interconnected with the grids in Vietnam and Laos. Interconnected grids are common amongst neighboring countries to provide support during certain grid contingencies on a neighbor’s system. GE’s Energy Consulting business was contracted by the grid operator in Cambodia to evaluate what would happen if Cambodia’s grid were unexpectedly disconnected from Vietnam’s.
